It is with great sadness that we have been obliged to close the Café - for good. This has all come about very quickly. We thought that we could ride out the recession, however the re-opening of King Alfred's Kitchen and Amore (Pulcinellas) at the same time proved to be too much.

Our policy of sourcing the majority of our fresh indredients locally does not seem to have captured the imagination of the local populus. With the Transition Town movement in Shaftesbury just getting off the ground it seems a shame that the only café/restaurant business that champions local sourcing has gone.

Perhaps Shaftesbury is simply not ready!

Finally we would like to thank all of you out there who have supported us, we will miss you. We will be continuing to promote live music and good food but in different ways.
